Who is Jose Castellanos? He is a husband, father, surfer, teacher, and on top of everything else, an artist. Born in Michoacan, Mexico, Castellanos moved to the United States at the age of twelve. With great determination, he graduated college earning two Bachelor's Degrees; one in Art and another in Liberal Studies. After earning his Teaching Credential in 1996, Castellanos has been teaching for 11 years and currently teaches at Curran Middle School in Bakersfield, California.

Castellanos is an award-winning artist whose artwork has been shown in many galleries and cafes.  He doesn't have a favorite style, but he is very well known for his abstract paintings where he uses bold and bright colors. Although most of his works are oil on canvas, Castellanos enjoys using charcoal and watercolors on paper.
